Letter from The Secretary General
Dear Delegates,
It is my privilege to welcome you to OWISMUN 2026, taking place on the 9th, 10th and 11th of January. What began as a small venture, a handful of students stepping into their first MUN, has grown into a conference that brings together voices from across schools. This year marks another step in that journey and I am honoured to share it with you.
The heart of OWISMUN has always been growth. Stepping into committee can feel daunting, yet every delegate will find a team committed to ensuring that this is a space of support, challenge and welcome.
Countless hours of planning stand behind what you will experience across these three days. Our Organising Committee, Chairs, faculty and student volunteers have prepared with remarkable commitment, refining each detail. I know that each of you has prepared with equal determination and I look forward to seeing the skill, curiosity and conviction you will bring to debate.
We gather at a moment when global events move with unprecedented speed, and the consequences of action and, more importantly, inaction, extend across borders and lives. Every speech, every proposal, every vote contributes to a pattern of influence that reaches further than its immediate audience. Choices made in committee are inseparable from the realities they reflect; attention, engagement, and deliberation shape outcomes as much as action outside of these walls. To remain apathetic is to allow direction to be determined by forces unconstrained and unexamined. If the act of observing changes the thing observed, then the act of engaging changes the world.
OWISMUN 2026 will present complexity without simple answers. Committees will reflect competing priorities and conflicting perspectives. Delegates who leave a mark do so through careful navigation of these tensions. Influence arises from presence and engagement. It grows from grappling with difficult questions and weighing ideas with attention. Every intervention becomes part of the conversation that shapes understanding, decisions, and outcomes beyond the committee room.
Thank you for joining us for OWISMUN 2026. I look forward to a conference defined by ambition, insight, and the energy that comes when young minds refuse to look away. The floor is yours.

All the best,
Jiyana Jojo
Secretary-General of OWISMUN’26

Letter from The Director General
Hey delegates,

I'm Aditya Ram, and I am thrilled to be your Director General for OWISMUN'26. My experiences in leadership, communication, and guiding peers have taught me the importance of clear dialogue and supportive teamwork. These qualities are at the heart of what I hope to bring to this conference.

I have spent the past few years organizing MUNs, creating educational content, working with peers, and strengthening my own skills in organization and collaboration. These experiences shape my vision for this event. I want every delegate to feel confident, welcomed, and motivated to engage fully in committee sessions.

MUN is more than debates. It is a place to learn, meet new people, and discover new strengths. My goal is to help create a smooth and meaningful conference experience that allows each of you to grow as a thinker and a leader.

Welcome to OWISMUN 2026. I look forward to seeing the ideas and enthusiasm you bring.

Good Luck,
Aditya Ram
Director-General of OWISMUN'26
